Dear readers of the EL Group Digest,


We are happy to be with you again. It has been almost a year since the last issue of the Digest in 2010. I must admit, we missed you, dear readers, and I hope you also felt the same way.

Last year proved quite turbulent and eventful for the whole country. This could also be said about our team. During this period we did not stand idle, our team has expanded and grown professionally. El Group consultants participated in and implemented a number of interesting projects within their field of expertise. Our service portfolio has expanded and includes now more clients, partners and interesting projects. El Group analysis team has become a separate division, and our HR division is working on its new development strategy.

 

As for our autumn activities, we are conducting 5th Salary and Compensations Survey for the city of Bishkek and the regions in 2011, which has already become El Group’s signature product for many of our local and overseas partners.

In this issue of the Digest Arsen Imankulov, El Group Consulting Partner and Head of Analysis division, will present you the summary of the last year Survey in his article “Salary and Compensations Survey in 2010. The Outcomes”.

 

Quite often we have clients who ask a question, which concerns employers more and more: “How does one select and assess potential employees who make good initial impression of being fairly professional and “sought-after”? Which selection methods and instruments are the most effective?” As a result of an internet poll conducted on the El Group website, we have identified the most widely used methods of employee selection and assessment on labour market in Kyrgyzstan. Aida Parpieva, El Group HRM Expert, will kindly share the results of the poll and her thoughts on the subject in her article “We select, we get selected”. Personally, I liked the article, its unconventional subject approach and lifelike quality.

 

In The Latest HRM Trends section we offer you an excerpt from an article on The System of Management by Objectives. In my opinion, the article will be interesting to all executives who on a daily basis have to deal with a problem of motivating their employees.
